Which Service Is Right For My Bee Problem?
The below sections provide some insight and recommended service options depending on the duration and location of your bee problem. Find the headline that matches your scenario and read on.
Exposed Cluster Of Bees – 0-3 days
If you are just noticing bees on your property and you can spot a large group of bees huddled together, then this is most likely a swarm. Swarms are temporary and will likely move within a few days. However, this does not mean that the group will not permanently move to another area on your home. To remedy the problem altogether at this point a Swarm Removal or Scout Bee Treatment is recommended.
A swarm removal will eradicate the bees from your property and eliminate the risk of bees permanently moving somewhere like inside the roof eaves, a tree, or irrigation box. A scout bee treatment is to target the bees that were sent off by the swarm to find a suitable nesting location. This treatment will prevent them from informing the swarm of their findings, thus cause them to move on from the vicinity.
Limited Bee Activity – 3 or More Days
Some consistent, yet limited bee activity is most likely an established hive. The reason you are only seeing a few bees active around a specific area is because the honey bees have already began building a nest in the enclosed area. The activity that you are seeing is the worker bees bringing pollen back to the nest.
In as little as a few days, a few pounds of honeycomb can have been built inside your home or other enclosed structure on your property. It is important to have the honeycomb removed to prevent another infestation from bees or a secondary pest infestation. Also, if honeycomb is left inside a wall void or roof eaves without an active hive, the honey can lose it viscosity and begin to soak into the walls causing home damage.
A Live Bee Removal or Extermination and a Honeycomb Removal and Repair is recommended at this stage of the bee infestation.
